"It never gets easier, you just go faster." -Greg LeMond
My first wheels. Kent, Washington circa 1966. Notice the custom block pedals so my feet would reach.
Four friends and I went to Colorado to ride the Colorado Rocky Mountain Bike Tour. We rode an extra day at the Colorado National Monument, which gave us a total of about 580 miles with over 32,000 feet of climbing, riding over the two highest passes in the United States. This is a great supported ride!
There is some great riding in Pendleton Oregon. The three routes ridden in three days were borrowed from cyclependleton.com. We experienced beautiful scenery, nice people, and everything from beautiful sunshine, to 40 plus mile an hour winds with a dust storm, and finished up with a wildfire.
A great fall ride from Ellensburg to Selah through the Yakima River Canyon. Beautiful fall colors, 2,000 foot high basalt cliffs,
and a wonderful little cafe in town. There is also a nature conservancy preserve in the canyon.
I took a tour in the French Alps with my good friends Larry and JC. We did a two week Erickson Cycles Tour riding about 1,000 miles with about 95,000 feet of elevation gain. We road many of the famous climbs from the Tour de France, and hooked up with the Tour de France for a day. An amazing place to ride.
A great trip with Larry.
We rode from Twisp to Osoyoos, Osoyoos to Lake Christina, Lake Christina to Grand Coulee, and then back to Twisp. Beautiful country and lots of passes to climb.
The highest road in Washington State, a great climb, but a very bumpy decent.
A great trip with Larry, Gary, and Tom. A little warm on the second day (101F). (Low resolution pictures)
